ENEL: 19 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR INTERPOWER

Rome, May 13, 2002 – There were 19 operators, both Italian and foreign, who today expressed interest in the acquisition of the generation company Interpower. The advisers are Credit Suisse First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch who, in the coming days, will verify that the interested parties have met the requirements called for in the tender.
