Greater electricity protection service
The greater protection of electricity service is an option provided to users who wish to have their supply regulated under the economic and contractual conditions established by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (ARERA).
The main characteristics of the greater light protection service are:
- Regulated tariffs: in the enhanced protection service, the tariffs are established and regulated by ARERA. This means that the price of electricity is defined at a national level.
- Quarterly update: in the enhanced protection service the tariffs are updated quarterly by ARERA
- Standardized contract: the contract for the enhanced protection service is standardized and does not provide for the possibility of customizing the contractual conditions. The conditions are established by ARERA to guarantee adequate protection for consumers.
Gas protection service
The gas protection service is specifically intended for domestic users and condominiums with domestic use, with the economic and contractual conditions established by the Authority. All natural gas suppliers are obliged to include the protection service among their offers. This service is limited to domestic and condominium users with domestic use that consume up to 200,000 cubic meters of gas per year.
The total price for gas supply and commercial management of customers - expenditure for natural gas - in the protection service is established and updated periodically by the Authority, and is made public on its website. In addition to the cost of gas, the bill also includes the costs relating to gas transportation, meter management, system charges and taxes. These costs must be paid by all customers, regardless of whether they are served in the free market or in the protected service.
