Relief Measures Provided in the Relaunch Decree for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

Urgent interventions to reduce electricity expenses for non-domestic users

Following the resolution published on May 26, 2020, ARERA has implemented the measures set forth in the Legislative Decree of May 19, 2020, to address the COVID-19 emergency and support small and medium-sized enterprises.

Distribution and metering tariffs, as well as general system charges, will be reduced on power bills for non-domestic users connected at low voltage for the billing periods of May, June, and July.

Specifically, the provisions of the Resolution apply to:

1. Non-domestic supplies with available power less than or equal to 3.3 kW
2. Non-domestic supplies with available power greater than 3.3 kW

In the first case, fixed charges (distribution and metering tariffs and general system charges) will be zeroed.
In the second case, the power-based component will be eliminated, and only a fixed charge will be applied, equal to the conventional value corresponding to a committed power of 3 kW, without reducing the actual power made available.

The benefits of this regulatory measure will be reflected starting from invoices issued in June 2020.

If invoices for May had already been issued by the date the Authority’s resolution came into effect, the applicable adjustments will be credited by the second subsequent billing cycle.

Below are the billing details you will find on your invoice:

Contracted power less than or equal to 3.3 kW
Contracted power greater than 3.3 kW
  • The Fixed Charge will only show the charge for April, as the price applied for May is zero;
  • The Power Charge remains unchanged.
  • The Fixed Charge will show the standard rate for April and, for May, the recalculated charge based on the conventionally set power of 3 kW;
  • The Power Charge for May will be zero, and only the charge for April will be present.
