Specifically, the Energy Receipt is divided into:

  • Consumption charge: split into the cost for the sale of natural gas and the cost for the network and general system charges;
  • Fixed charge: divided into the cost for the sale of natural gas and the cost for the network and general system charges;
  • Excise duties and VAT.

If you want to see the detailed breakdown of the amounts, consult the detailed bill by accessing the Customer Area, Bills section, and selecting “Bolletta di dettaglio”; or access the Enel Energia App, go to the supply details, tap “Bollette,” select the bill, and choose “Scarica bolletta di dettaglio”.

Cost of Natural Gas

The expense incurred by the supplier to provide natural gas to the end customer. This includes the price of the "componente materia prima gas", the natural gas commodity component.

System Charges Expense

These are applied by all sales companies based on the values set by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA). These costs cover various expenses such as renewable energy or interventions to cover services of general interest for the entire gas system. The amount related to system charges consists of two parts: a variable portion proportional to the customer’s consumption and a fixed portion. The fixed portion is applied monthly on the bill as follows:

"Quota Energia (€/Smc)" with an AGGREGATED breakdown of the components Energy Saving (RE), (UG1), Commercialization Cost Compensation (UG2 Var), Recovery of Default Charges for Last Resort Service Providers (UG3), and gas bonus (GS) paid only by condominiums for domestic use;

"Quota Fissa (€/anno)" with a breakdown of the Commercialization Cost Compensation component (UG2 Fissa).

In the detailed consumption section, you will find:

  • excise duties (vary depending on the amount of gas consumed);
  • regional surcharges (set independently by each region within the limits established by law, applied to the amount of gas consumed);
  • VAT (for civil and domestic uses, it is 10% for the first 480 cubic meters of gas per year and 22% on the remaining consumption and fixed charges; for industrial uses, it is fixed at 22%).

Immediately after, you will find the box “Legenda dei codici nel dettaglio fiscale.”
