Global ICT: generating the future

In an industry in which technology is a key factor of growth, our Global ICT department fully reflects the approach of our Group, the first global utility company and the first major Italian company to be completely in the cloud. This achievement was made possible, starting in 2019, by platformization, an innovative approach that has enabled us to integrate different technology functions on a unified platform.

This historic milestone was achieved mostly thanks to the collaboration of more than 3,000 people engaged in the ICT sector worldwide, half of whom are located in Italy.

Our recruiting team continues to play a leading role in this mission, with the goal of recognizing and fostering talent. One example of this was Team Recruiting Italia’s participation in the Apple Future Fair promoted by the Apple Developer Academy at the University of Naples Federico II in June 2024. It featured two days of discussion, dialogue and sharing that allowed us to meet so many bright young people who are passionate about technology. Their contributions will be indispensable in helping us to revolutionize the ways in which we produce, distribute and use energy as protagonists of an increasingly sustainable “tomorrow.”

Against a backdrop of great environmental, economic and digital transformation, in which the energy sector plays a leading role, collaborations with academic organizations are key to spreading our Group’s vision. Another virtuous confirmation of this was our participation in Digital Week in July 2024. At the event, together with Global Chief Information Officer Carlo Bozzoli, we spoke about our approach to innovation and digital technology and shared our Group’s vision on ICT-related issues during a discussion time with international students from the Executive MBA and Global Executive MBA programs from the SDA Bocconi School of Management.

Having revolutionary ideas is just as important as contributing every day to concretely transforming the world in which we live. This is the vision we share every day with our people on the Global ICT Team, an inspiring and innovative department within a Group with solid roots but oriented towards the future in an industry that is constantly evolving.
