Company Volunteering 2025: Energy for communities, value for people
Environmental sustainability and urban regeneration, circular economy, and social inclusion: these are just some of the areas touched by the 2025 Corporate Volunteering program, which kicked off again on March 13 with a clear goal – to leverage our Group’s widespread presence across the country through targeted initiatives that address the needs of local communities.
Since 2019, this commitment has already involved over 3,000 colleagues who have donated more than 20,000 hours of their time to participate in 285 projects with high social and environmental value, turning the desire to leave a tangible mark on the territories where we operate into concrete actions, while also embracing the opportunity for profound personal enrichment.
Participation success was confirmed again in 2024, when nearly 900 volunteers took part in 97 initiatives across 22 cities, in collaboration with Third Sector associations—many of which arose from synergies with the Enel Cuore ecosystem, a constant reference since the program’s inception. In 2025, the Corporate Volunteering program aims to continue as a space of listening and engagement with communities, building lasting bonds and generating shared value in line with our commitment to sustainable development.
Starting from March 13, initiatives have involved many Italian cities, focusing on reclaiming spaces for the community, supporting the most fragile and vulnerable groups, and engaging new generations in educational and growth activities. In this way, a mosaic is created where each action becomes a piece of a broader project of solidarity and cross-sector commitment.
The first event, held on March 13 in Naples, took place at the Laboratorio Dinamite with the goal of involving young people in activities designed to stimulate creativity and foster inclusion. Also dedicated to younger generations—especially children facing hardship—was the “ImpariAmo” workshop held in Milan on March 14 to facilitate learning through playful and recreational activities. Still in Milan, on March 19, our volunteers participated in “Illuminiamo le Tavole,” assisting families in need by distributing food and essential goods.
On March 14 in Rome, our volunteers supported elderly members of the Santa Giacinta community at the Caritas headquarters in Divino Amore, entertaining guests with workshops and readings, and helping with meal service activities—a commitment repeated on March 21 and April 11. The Corporate Volunteering program also came to life in Palermo (March 17), Genoa (March 18), and Perugia (March 20) through a series of educational workshops for children, where opportunities for growth, learning, and socialization were fostered through forms of expression linked to play, color, and interaction.
Furthermore, on March 19 in Rome, a special project was inaugurated: our volunteers participated in Riordino CasArché, collaborating to make the spaces of this shelter for mothers and children in difficulty more harmonious and welcoming—turning a small gesture into a concrete example of care and closeness.
On April 11, at the Metamorfosi Space in Naples, our volunteers took part in a workshop focused on climate issues and responsible citizenship, organized by the L’Albero della Vita Foundation and aimed at secondary school students. Through the creative language of comics, young participants engaged in a deeper reflection on the consequences of environmental impact and the need to adopt conscious behaviors to ensure a more sustainable and human-centered future for new generations.
On April 15, our Rome office in Piazza Verdi hosted the solidarity stalls of the Arché Foundation, which through Casa Marzia offers essential assistance and psychological support to mothers and children in particularly vulnerable situations. Specifically, the sale of Easter eggs was a direct support to the “Vacanze Arcobaleno” project, an initiative through which every summer the guests of Casa Marzia can leave behind the urban chaos to enjoy a period of peace and relaxation in nature.
This tradition of solidarity stalls was repeated on April 18 at our Via Carducci office in Milan, with the sale of Easter dove cakes made by the Cometa Association’s bakery. Here too, proceeds fully supported the numerous projects run by the nonprofit, which daily cares for children, young people, and families in difficulty through foster care services, personalized learning paths, and employment initiatives helping young people with disabilities or from fragile backgrounds toward personal growth and independence.
Also in Milan, on May 9 and 15, our volunteers contributed to the Arché Bazar, a vintage charity market held at the Santa Maria Goretti Parish: a perfect blend of circular economy and solidarity, where every donated and sold item helped support the Arché Foundation’s shelters. Our volunteers alternated in managing the spaces, welcoming visitors, and assisting sales activities, turning a small gesture of participation into a real opportunity for empowerment for mothers, children, and families in need.
In Cagliari, on May 21, our volunteers took part in the Park Litter project: an initiative organized by Legambiente as part of the “Puliamo il Mondo” campaign, aimed at protecting and redeveloping urban green spaces, including mapping the quantity and types of waste in public areas. Specifically, our volunteers’ efforts focused near the San Bartolomeo Canal, inaugurated in 1834 to support local salt production and now at the center of an ambitious sustainable mobility project involving the construction of a pedestrian and cycling bridge. A concrete action through which our volunteers across Italy help promote a message of collective responsibility: caring for shared spaces means fostering a new sense of belonging and participation, essential for building more livable, welcoming, and human-centered cities.
But corporate volunteering is not just an act of generosity toward others: it is also an opportunity to challenge oneself and simultaneously develop teamwork, empathy, listening, and problem-solving skills—attitudes fundamental to both professional and personal growth—while also helping to build ever stronger and more inclusive communities. Because true energy is the one generated together.
