Smart devices for a smart home

Smart devices for a smart home

It only takes a few simple steps to make your home more efficient, sustainable and intelligent. Starting with the many devices on the market today, such as smart lights, sockets and thermostats that allow us to consume less energy and to save money on our bills as a result. We can also ensure an easy-to-manage and efficient home environment thanks, for example, to remote control of consumption via App or simple voice commands.

Old light sources are destined to die out, and the push for change is happening on several fronts. For example, on 1 September 2018, European Directive 244 came into force, making it mandatory for shops to sell only LED bulbs.
But is it true that they consume less? The answer is yes. LED bulbs are environmentally friendly, last longer and consume significantly less energy.

Smart sockets and switches: what are they and how do they work?

A smart socket is a device that allows you to make the electrical devices in your home “smart”. The automation of household appliances and lighting is a solution that guarantees considerable savings on utility bills. The smart socket makes it possible for you to control any appliance simply using an app. To keep electricity costs down, all you need is a smartphone from which to control the smart socket.
Installing a smart socket is simple and does not require technical support. Simply plug it into a power socket and follow the device's instructions to install it.
With Smart sockets and the help of an App, it is possible to:

  • Set times and days for switching on devices.

  • Remotely manage the devices connected to it. For example, switching hard-to-reach lights on and off. Or controlling the switching on and off of systems outside the home, such as irrigation systems.

  • Monitor consumption: apps connected to smart sockets usually monitor the energy consumption of the products connected to the socket.

Smart thermostat: what it is and how it works

A smart thermostat is an essential device for a smart home. It also allows you to control the boiler remotely via app: this way you can optimise your home heating consumption and save on your bills.
A smart thermostat is equipped with a Wi-Fi module to control the heating system remotely, via smartphone apps or smart speakers to configure the device with voice commands. It is equipped with a special sensor to detect room temperature, based on which it activates, switches off and regulates the boiler for sustainable comfort.
Using a smart thermostat is easy. Simply install the devices to control your home heating, choose the desired programme, and the thermostat will take care of your comfort by creating your ideal environment. Configuration can be done from the digital display, via smart speakers with voice assistant or through an App. After the desired home temperature has been set, the smart thermostat communicates with the boiler or smart valves to ensure that heat is maintained inside the home.
