What requirements are needed to activate Splitcharge?

At the moment, the offer can be activated if you own a Waybox 3.0 or 4.0 by Enel X Way Italia, connected and registered on the Enel On Your Way app and associated with the same domestic-use meter for which you are requesting subscription to Enel Splitcharge Luce. In addition, the Tax Code used to register on the Enel On Your Way app, on which your Waybox is configured, must match the Tax Code associated with that meter.

I don’t have an Enel Waybox but a wallbox from another provider. Can I activate Splitcharge?

At present, during this pilot phase, the Splitcharge service can be activated only with Enel Waybox. However, Enel has opened the opportunity to other manufacturers or suppliers of charging infrastructures interested in making their devices compatible with the Enel Splitcharge Luce offer, allowing them to integrate with Enel’s software systems by writing to splitcharge@enel.com, as indicated at this link.

Can Splitcharge be activated if I charge my electric car without a domestic charging infrastructure?

No, to activate Splitcharge you must charge your electric car using an Enel Waybox 3.0 or 4.0, connected and registered on the Enel On Your Way app. Only in this way can Enel view the specific consumption related to your electric car home charging, separate it from your total household consumption, and apply the energy component discount provided for home charging consumption under the offer you have subscribed to.

How can I associate the Enel Splitcharge Luce offer with the Waybox I use to charge my electric car?

To activate Enel Splitcharge Luce and correctly associate it with the Enel X Way Waybox, the Tax Code used to register on the Enel On Your Way app, on which the Enel X Way Waybox is configured, must be the same Tax Code associated with the POD of the electricity supply. If you are the supply holder, make sure you have registered on the Enel On Your Way app using your own details and that the Waybox you use for your electric car home charging is correctly associated with that account.

What happens if my Waybox connection drops?

The Splitcharge service can operate as long as Enel’s management systems are able to view the kWh related to your electric car home charging carried out via the Waybox. In the event of temporary disconnections of the electric charging station lasting less than 24 hours, data relating to the electric vehicle charging activity will still be collected and correctly billed in accordance with the economic conditions provided for by the Enel Splitcharge service. If, however, the disconnection lasts for a longer period, please contact Enel X Srl Customer Service at the free number 140 in order to obtain technical support and proceed with restoring the Waybox connectivity. In any case, if the failure to restore the connection is caused by events not attributable to Enel but to third parties, and for which it is not possible to provide the support service and/or recover consumption data, this may result in the temporary suspension of the application of the discount on the energy component price relating to home charging consumption, without prejudice to any subsequent adjustment in the first available bill in favour of the customer as soon as the Waybox measurement data become available. Please note that if your wallbox connection drops, you can request to receive a notification in the Enel On Your Way Way app by clicking on “Account”/“Settings”/“Notification settings” and selecting “Home charging station”.

What is the Waybox home charging station used for and how does it work?

The Waybox is an essential device for charging your electric car, designed to provide a safe and efficient home charging point, ensuring faster charging times compared to a standard household socket. Once installed, you can manage charging through the Enel On Your Way app: after registration, you can connect directly to your Waybox in just a few simple steps. The app allows you to manage, monitor and schedule home charging, as well as control energy consumption. To start charging with your Waybox, you can choose between two modes: Connect & Charge (Free charging) and Unlock To Charge (Authorized charging). You can change the mode by accessing Configuration in the Settings menu. To benefit from the discount reserved for Splitcharge customers, your Waybox must be connected during the charging of your car. For further details, please refer to the Waybox user manual available on the website: https://support-emobility.enelx.com/support-hub/it

How do I add my Waybox to the Enel On Your Way app and why should I connect it?

Your Waybox can be connected to the Enel X Way smart charging platform via Wi-Fi connectivity (or cellular connectivity if you have a cellular version Waybox). Using the Enel On Your Way app, the connection allows you to remotely control and monitor your Waybox and to send to Enel’s systems the consumption data specifically related to charging your electric car, so that Enel can apply the Energy component discount provided by the Enel Splitcharge Luce offer to those consumptions. After downloading the app and creating your personal account, you can connect your Waybox as follows: open the app and, at the bottom of the main page, select “Waybox” and click “Add a box”. Scan or manually enter the Waybox serial number and click “Continue”. The app will attempt to connect to your Waybox’s Bluetooth network and will then notify you once the connection is established; at this point, you will be shown the Wi-Fi networks available to connect the Waybox to. For further details, please refer to the Waybox user manual available on the website: https://support-emobility.enelx.com/support-hub/it

Are there any time-slot constraints for charging my electric car and benefiting from the discount on the energy component price for consumption attributable to the Waybox?

No, to benefit from the discount provided by the Splitcharge offer you have subscribed to, you simply need to charge your electric car at any time of the day using a connected Enel Waybox 3.0 or 4.0, or another connected home charging station compatible with the Enel Group’s software systems.

If I have a garage with a separate meter from the one at home, can I activate Splitcharge?

No, Splitcharge can be activated only on a domestic-use meter. If you are looking for an offer dedicated to charging your car in a garage, please contact us at the free number 140, visit our website at https://www.enel.it/en-us/offerte-luce, or go to the Spazio Enel closest to you at https://www.enel.it/en-us/spazio-enel.

What type of meter is required to activate Splitcharge?

Any domestic-use meter. It does not need to be 2G.

Can I activate the Enel Splitcharge Luce offer without a Waybox?

The offer has been designed to provide an economic benefit to owners of charging infrastructures. Although it can be activated on any domestic-use meter, in order to benefit from the discount on the energy component for consumption related to car charging, activation is currently recommended only in cases where a Waybox is connected to that meter (whose characteristics are described in the previous FAQs). If you are interested in purchasing an Enel Waybox, please contact us at the free number 140, leave your contact details at https://www.enel.it/it-it/lead-mobility-waybox, or visit the Spazio Enel closest to you at https://www.enel.it/en-us/spazio-enel.

After activating Splitcharge, where will I see the consumption and costs related to the consumption share for my electric car home charging?

You will see on your bill the consumption in kWh related to your electric car home charging, clearly separated from the total kWh of household consumption. Likewise, you will see the energy component cost for home charging consumption itemized and separated from the total cost.

If I have more than one electric car, how will I see the consumption and costs for the consumption share?

If you charge your electric cars using the same Waybox wallbox, or if you use two separate wallboxes that are both connected to the same meter on which you have activated Splitcharge, you will see on your bill the total consumption and the costs related to the consumption shares for both cars.

What happens in the event of a malfunction of my wallbox?

Splitcharge can operate as long as Enel’s management systems are able to view the kWh related to your electric car home charging carried out via a wallbox. In the event of a wallbox malfunction, the offer you have subscribed to will remain active for the kWh of electricity consumption for the rest of your home and will also apply to consumption for charging your electric car (the discount provided by the offer will therefore not be applicable). As soon as the wallbox is operational again, Splitcharge will be reactivated and you will be able to benefit from the discount reserved for the kWh consumed through its use.
