What is PUN Index GME and where do I find it?

Starting from January 1, 2025, the PUN has been replaced by the PUN Index GME, which is the weighted average of electricity prices across different zones in Italy, taking into account the quantities of energy sold and the time-of-use bands.

For more information, consult the dedicated page on the PUN.

What does my energy bill consist of?

The offer includes a price composed of:

Energy component (PUN Index GME + α):

  • The PUN Index GME corresponds to the Single National Price differentiated by the following time bands, defined monthly as the arithmetic monthly averages of the PUN Index GME values, expressed in Euro/kWh, as determined by the Energy Markets Operator (GME) and published on the GME website. This price will be increased by network losses applied as defined, published, and updated by ARERA.

Energy component price differentiated by time bands:

  • F1: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays

  • F2: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday; Saturday 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, excluding national holidays

  • F3: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday to Saturday; all day Sunday and national holidays

For more information about the measurement handling methods at withdrawal points, please refer to the Technical and Economic Conditions.

  • Consumption contribution (α), excluding VAT and taxes and including network losses, fixed for the first 12 months, added to the energy component price (equal to the PUN Index GME) as described above. It represents costs for the raw material not covered by the PUN Index GME. Network losses will be applied as defined, published, and updated by ARERA.

  • Retail sales cost (also called CCV Luce): €144/POD/year, excluding VAT and taxes, to be paid monthly. This fee is fixed for 12 months starting from the supply activation date.

The energy component price (PUN Index GME + α), excluding VAT and taxes, represents about 42% of the total electricity expense (excluding VAT and taxes) for a typical domestic resident customer with:

  • 3 kW of committed power

  • Annual consumption of 2000 kWh

The remaining cost components—dispatching fee, fee to cover the net cost of capacity procurement, an imbalance component equal to 2% of the Single National Price (PUN Index GME), dispatching component (DISP BT), costs for transport and meter management services, system charges—are applied as defined, published, and periodically updated by ARERA and as specified in the Technical and Economic Conditions of the offer (CTE). Upon expiration of the validity period of these fees, Enel Energia may communicate new values. This communication will be sent according to the procedures and timing established in Article 7.2 of the CGF.

For more details, consult the expense breakdown on your bill.

How is the security deposit calculated?

The security deposit, which will be refunded in your final adjustment bill, is calculated based on the capacity of your meter. Specifically, a unit amount of €5.16/kW will be applied.

If you want more information, check the PDF on the amounts charged as a security deposit.

If you terminate the contract, the deposit refund will include the legal interest rate.

How does withdrawal from Enel Energia work?

You may withdraw from your contract with Enel Energia at any time via your supplier when concluding a new contract.
In addition, you may cancel the supply activation request by registered mail, free of charge, within fourteen days of the conclusion of the contract. For more information please see the "General Terms and Conditions of Supply".

What is the cooling-off period and how does it work?

You can exercise your right to change your mind, prior to contract activation without giving reasons and without any additional charges, up to fourteen days after conclusion of the contract. This period is extended to thirty days for contracts concluded through agents or agencies.

To request the application of the right to change your mind, send the relevant form, which you will find attached to the contract, to one of our contact channels. For energy and/or gas supply only, you can do this through a simple recorded telephone call to our toll-free number 800 900 860.

If, when signing the contract, you choose early activation of the supply, the activation time may be reduced and it will no longer be possible to exercise the right to change your mind once the relevant supply has commenced or once the new conditions of the new contract have been applied (in the case of a product change with Enel Energia).

Important: In the event of a product change, the right to change your mind can only be applied in writing.
