What does the energy cost consist of?

The price structure of the PLACET offers, as defined by ARERA, consists of a fixed fee (Pfix), expressed in Euro/POD/year, and an energy component (Pvol), expressed in Euro/kWh (therefore proportional to the volumes consumed), which is variable and indexed to wholesale market trends (the PUN Index GME for electricity).

Specifically, the Pfix is set at €144/POD/year (excluding VAT and taxes), payable on a monthly basis.

The Pvol (including network losses), which varies monthly, is calculated using the following formula:
PVOL = (1 + λ) * (P_INGM + α), where:

  • λ: is the correction factor that accounts for network losses according to the Integrated Text of provisions regulating the physical and economic settlement of the dispatching service (TIS);

  • P_INGM: is the monthly average arithmetic value of the PUN, expressed in Euro/kWh, as determined by the Energy Market Operator (GME), possibly differentiated for time bands F1 and F23, and published on the website of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA);

  • α: expressed in Euro/kWh, is a fixed and non-variable parameter for 12 months from the supply activation date, representing the cost of the raw material not covered by the PUN.

The price of the energy component (Pvol) accounts for approximately 51% of the total electricity cost (excluding VAT and taxes) for a typical domestic customer with:

  • 30 kW of contracted power

  • annual consumption of 30,000 kWh

For further details, refer to the cost breakdown percentages in the bill.

The Enel Energia PLACET Variable Light Business offer refers solely to the supply of electricity and does not include additional services.
